26 cars and 32 apartments. A real ā€œman of the peopleā€, that one

I know! Poor bastard doesnā€™t even have a car for each apartment.

Or a better question, why did it explode? Did a Neptune missile hit the ship, cause a fire, and had secondary ammo explosions?

Thatā€™s not all. From the CNBC article:

ā€œ[Assets] include 26 cars, 32 apartments, 23 houses, 30 plots of land, 17 parking spots and a yacht.ā€

And presumably a partridge in a pear tree. But man, just think of itā€”17 parking spots!

Parking spots are one of the weirder corners of the real estate world, but in desirable cities there is serious lightly regulated money to be made.

Or the very real-life case of Juan Pujol Garcia, who concocted an entire fictional spy network in WW2.

Replying to myself, since this seems to be a looming concern:

Russia experts suggested that Moscow, which has labeled weapons convoys coming into the country as legitimate military targets but has not thus far attacked them, may be preparing to do so.

A followup: journalists from Radio Liberty tracked down the soldier and his wife who gave him permission to rape Ukrainian women. Silver lining: he canā€™t make use of that permission because heā€™s now in a hospital in Crimea recovering from wounds.

Iā€™d like to remind Russia that destroying arms destined to the allies was one of the main catalysts for the US entering WWI.

And yet the US also largely let pass German attacks prior to December 7, 1941. The Reuben James being a notable case.

His exploits are also discussed in Operation Mincemeat (the book) in some detail - he played a part in persuading the Germans that the entirely false planned invasion in Greece was real, diverting attention from Sicily, which was the entire raise dā€™ĆŖtre of the operation.

I hope heā€™s in the new movie as well, but I didnā€™t see a character of that name listed in the credits. Based on the book he really took the initiative and started doing a lot of useful spy work for the British even though they were initially uninterested in his help.

So I was watching a video on why the A-10 sucks, and this chart came up, which I guess the channel creator has used before when talking about Russian equipment.

And now I am checking out his commentary on how Russia is doing, and the chart is being shown again, even more relevant.

He parks 9 of those cars on the street? Heā€™s a pauper.

I doubt heā€™ll make it to the film. To capture the full book youā€™d need a 12-part TV series and then some. He may get a passing mention. Weā€™ll see.

Maybe someone has a copy of the Budapest Memorandum of which Russia was one of the signatories?
Russia should be thankful that others are able to assist Ukraine in a time of need since Russia is obviously not able to currently. Instead, they are making everything rather awkward.

A shame, but all the more reason to give him his own film. I mean, the guy was a one-man disinformation operation, sending the Nazi military on wild goose chases after non-existent convoys all on his own before the Brits finally accepted his offers of service.

I wonder if someone pitched it to Netflix yet. They distribute movies like The Resistance Banker where the drama and action is just about payroll logistics (albeit a very important part of the Dutch Resistance effort.)

Those nine go in the apartments.
