That is plausible and entirely terrifying. Helpless rage is an awful feeling

Two US senators have come under fire for sharing photos of Volodomyr Zelensky on social media after they were reportedly asked not to for the safety of the Ukrainian president.

Democratic Rep Dean Phillips slammed Republican Senators Steve Daines and Marco Rubio for their “appalling and reckless ignorance” after they each posted screen grabs from a Zoom call between Mr Zelensky and a group of US lawmakers on Saturday morning, where he had pleaded for more help for Ukraine from the US.

The congressman tweeted on Saturday that all lawmakers had specifically been asked not to post anything from the virtual meeting online in order to “protect the security” of the Ukrainian president who is said to have been targeted by multiple Russian assassination plots over the last week.

“The Ukrainian Ambassador very intentionally asked each of us on the zoom to NOT share anything on social media during the meeting to protect the security of President Zelenskyy,” he tweeted.

“Appalling and reckless ignorance by two US Senators.”

If they are losing that many aircraft – and while I’d be cautious about trusting the numbers, since those have always been inaccurate since WWI when you first had air combat, I believe they certainly are losing some – the Russian AF is doing very badly. Which seems to tie into the idea that they don’t have the institutional competence to use their numbers properly, to wipe out Ukrainian AF and AA assets. Also, this might be a result of Ukraine being almost literally flooded with MANPADS right now; a Stinger behind every leaf of grass, so to speak.

They do. Which ties back to the question: Why aren’t the Russians using that massive numerical superiority to drive away or wipe out the Ukrainian AF, and establish air superiority? And the answer is looking increasingly like they don’t know how to do so properly.

Serious question: if he gets killed because of this and Ukraine loses the war, then regains independence and rebuilds, can they sue in a civil American court for damages?

I disagree with the basic premise of the article, which is that we have two outcomes for when Putin wins, neither of which involve Ukraine having any agency.

I don’t think it’s inevitable that Putin’s going to win.

Saw today that my local supermarket has added a button at checkout to donate to Ukraine. It’s as simple as one press to add a virtual item to your bill. Simple and effective. Certainly worked on me.

You can sue for any reason in the US.

Those guys should lose some committee assignments in the interim. And access to security related information.
