Yep, Iāve been wondering about these manly menās motives, thinking itās more likely that theyāre looking for self-affirming conquests and kills than that they want to help out in Ukraineās war effort. And yes, a lot of those kinds of dudes are also white-supremacist dickheads.
I hope Ukrainian authorities have good vetting procedures for these incoming weekend-warrior types.
I dunnoā¦ I mean yes, that is possible, and likely SOME of them are white supremacists. But this also reads like fear mongering to me.
War is still seen by some as a āgrand adventureā meant to forge boys into menā¦ They gloss over the harm done by conflict, from the civilians to the combatants, the built landscape, and the environment. Itās a lose-lose, especially in these days of war at a distance, making it seem like less dangerous to some, when itās more wide-ranging in the modern era and far more destructive.
This has already been a thing for years in Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine.

Since the start of this, Iāve been wondering what has become of the white supremacist group that had the moniker of āWolvesā or something. IIRC, it was the motorcycle club that was mixing with mercenariesā¦
This should probably be split off into its own thread, but Iām sure Iām not alone in wanting to know what I can personally do to help the people of Ukraine and Iām wondering what are the best organizations to send my money to. Off the top of my head Iām looking at the International Rescue Committee (which I just made a donation to) and Doctors Without Borders but Iād like to know if anyone has researched this and come up with a good list of worthy groups.
This is what happens when you ignore a problem for decades, it festers, and grows into transnational networks that can shape world events.
White people need to get our house in orderā¦
In the UK,
There is a crowdsourced comprehensive list of various ways you can help Ukraine:
Yes, this is the group. However, I seem to remember them reaching out to create extensions of the group by inviting USians and forming clubs in ex-Soviet bloc countries?
Russiaās problem with chemical weapons are that it is not that difficult for Ukraine to retaliate. Once used by one side in a conflict, the other side has the right to retaliate with the same.
The technology for creating and deploying chemical weapons can be over 100 years old at this point. It also opens the door to WMD terrorism against Russia, given they share a rather long border.
The Aum Shinrikyo cult proved deadly chemical weapons can be produced by amateurs and effectively deployed by terrorists. VX gas against Kyiv now can end up with chlorine or anthrax releases in Moscow subways later.
(Despite inventing nerve gas, the reason the Nazis didnāt use it against Allies/Soviets was the ability they had to retaliate in kind)
I donāt think Putin cares about potential retaliation.
Google doing something goodā¦I didnāt think it was possible.
Donāt do evil. And donāt do anything to fight it either!
