Let’s hope some of the Russian population gets to hear about this:

I’m sure the Ukrainians have heard about this:

More genocidal shit…

Vladimir Putin signed a decree simplifying the process of attaining Russian citizenship for Ukrainian children who are either orphaned or currently without parental care , particularly in the partially occupied territories in the Donbas :

We’ve done the same thing in the States to children forceably removed from their families along our southern border.

Let me guess what they’re going to do when when they turn 18 (or 16?)?

This can’t be good for Russia’s economy.

What took them so long? The end of winter heating season, I bet.

They had to reach a compromise with Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which rely on Russian oil delivered by pipeline. Hungary wants EU funding to upgrade its refineries, which it says can only process Russian crude.

Got partway through this sentence, thinking I was reading the comment section from the “Waffle House” post. Weird.

So what do we need to end the blockade? I they have anti-ship missiles, but I guess have to wait for them to get closer to shore? If there is artillery positions on land to hit fleeing ships, maybe we could knock them out with the new longer range rockets we are sending.

What about by rail? The still have a decent rail system. It would suck, but could they start moving stuff by rail?

The problem is that their infrastructure is probably not designed for this. From what I seen in my region, loading grain to railcars requires very specific infrastructure that would need to be built.

Railways can provide only a fraction of the capacity of shipping.

That is true - you need these loaders that put them into the cars, and then at the destination the cars dump the grain out to a storage area below that is then moved from there.

Right, but it at least would move SOME of it.

If they can sink a few more ships and take out any land based artillery, then perhaps the blockade would be untenable.

IIRC grain is already being exported by rail and by barges on the Danube.
