I want Ukraine to take back Crimea and I fully support Ukraine’s strikes into mainland Russia.

Ukraine’s moves from day one of the invasion (and probably earlier) have been incredibly smart. Putin would haved loved Kyiv to escalate too quickly and to demand territory so Ukraine can be painted as just as big an brutal imperialist power as Russia is. Instead, and even in the midst of an existential war, every new strategic move has been considered and measured carefully by the leadership. The result has been only increasing international recognition of and material support for the justness of their cause.

Historically speaking, it’s rare to see thoughtful leaders prevail over the impatient hotheads in the midst of an on-going conflict. If Ukraine keeps this up they may indeed get Crimea back with the approval (or at least acceptance) of the international community.

With Israel threatening to give Ukraine weapons, and Iran arming Russia, does this make Russia a mere client state in a Middle East proxy war? /s

There is some irony in a country that right-wingers in the West have in the last decade seen* as a Great White Hope Christian state being so reliant on a nation-state that’s been an Islamist Boogeyman since 1979.

[* and that’s been promoted by Putin]

Cursory research suggests that I have seriously underestimated the market for surprisingly expensive fake military helmets. I assume it is an Airsoft thing.

Any idea how much a real ballistic helmet would cost?
