2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine (Part 2)

I like that they’re much more biodegradable (eventually, because wax coating) than plastic drones. There will be a need for a lot of cleanup when Ukraine finally expels the orcs.

Ukraine obviously doesn’t release accurate statistics of their own losses, and nothing the Russians claim, whether about Ukrainian losses or their own, can be trusted.

So it’s hard to get an idea of how much casualties and materiel loss Ukraine has had. Obviously, very much less than Russia, though.

Another “mysterious” death.

His cause of death was given as “circulatory problems in his brain”…

And in clandestine news…

Just full of all kinds of good news. /XLs

Moscow will become more dependent on nuclear weapons following significant battlefield losses and punishing rounds of sanctions that have crippled the Kremlin’s ability to finance its war machine.

“Heavy losses to its ground forces and the large-scale expenditures of precision-guided munitions during the conflict have degraded Moscow’s ground and air-based conventional capabilities and increased its reliance on nuclear weapons,” the intelligence community wrote.

Nothing all that new, well, because unclassified, but in context there is a whole lotta sh*t going down.

Decapitation, being shot through the heart, poisoning… many things can bring that on.

Yeah, those Russian talk shows are full of absolutely unhinged stuff: people angrily asking why Russia isn’t nuking UK and Europe yet, claims that Ukraine is run by a satanist conspiracy (plain Nazis just aren’t interesting enough, I guess), and frequently calling for Ukrainan genocide.

It’s more a case of internal propaganda, rather than accurately reflecting the real opinions of either the Kremlin or the Russian people, but it’s still very nasty and very alarming. It’s 100% guaranteed that if Russia had managed to roll Ukraine up like they planned, they would have re-enacted the Katyn massacres, only with Ukrainian politicians, scholars, artists, officers, doctors, intellectuals and teachers instead of Polish ones.

I expect I’ll have to google that … hang on …

ETA - nah - means nothing to me. It’s on Sky Atlantic here, so that removes it from my sight entirely.

I tried to find an image that would make it clear, but couldn’t. Let me spoiler it:

A community is being told that they’re eating ‘venison’, but it’s actually the meat of anyone who dies in the community. At one point we see the de-skinned bodies hanging, as deer would be, in the kitchen waiting to be butchered.
