Yes, but how would anyone be able to tell?
BBC News - Ukraine war: Pentagon leaks reveal Russian infighting over death toll
That’s the siloviki trying to one-up the military and warlord factions.
That’s a great thing to leak if you want to create paranoia in the Kremlin.
Thank you, and @GagHalfrunt .
I assume that the historical research on that part of the war is highly influenced by political views during the cold war. Hell, I guess Putin’s personal view originates from that, and has somehow mutated in this fucked-up cancer of a situation¹.
Footnote ¹: I am at a loss for a word here. I call it a situation, because it is more than a war. This ‘situation’ extends well beyond any battlefield. It influences and distorts global politics, diplomacy, security policies, economy and economics, food security and more.
Isn’t that what all wars do? We’ve just been too insulated from them in the West because we’ve been having them in far away, profitable places for the last few generations.
FBI has “made an arrest” in connection to leaks
The FBI said on Thursday it has “made an arrest and is continuing to conduct authorized law enforcement activity at a residence in North Dighton, Massachusetts,” amid a media report a suspect in the leak of classified information has been identified.
US Attorney General Merrick Garland will make a statement on the situation at 2:30 p.m, Reuters reports.
Hey look! It’s Merrick!
Winter is over? Or is Summer delayed?
Perhaps after the DOJ and Defense Dept is done with him maybe Mr Teixeira will get sent to the front lines in Ukraine with a broom.
In a way, I want to agree. However, this situation has ramifications other wars haven’t had during the last five or more decades.
When I start thinking it through, again, I am in danger of spiralling into a pit of despair, so I won’t today. Sufficient to say that slow-moving apocalypse is the scenario I end up with over and over again, and I cannot accept that.
Russia is fighting for traditional values! /s
“Very smart, very classy!” – Donald Trump, probably.
Girkin thinks his own awful Russian ultra-nationlism makes him immune from consequences. If the authorities drop the case he still may receive an explodey gift from the GRU like that blogger did.
IIRC Girkin’s response to the law against discrediting the army was to stop calling Sergei Shoigu the Plywood Marshal and start calling him the Non-Plywood Marshal instead.
Anyway:
