He’d be supplying weapons systems to Russia.
If Trump were in office he wouldn’t give Ukraine anything – unless he could see an opportunity for blackmail. Because that’s what he did when he was in office.
The BEST slingshot!
One has to remember that while Russia is mostly failing on the propaganda front in Europe and US, is actually doing quite well in the rest of the world. My friends in Malasia, Brazil, Morocco and India tend to have quite a different view of the Ukranian conflict, ranging from a “neutral position” to “pro-russian”.
I was quite surprised at first, but my understanding is that the Ukranian counter-propaganda operation is basically concentrating the efforts on our areas. Probably budget limitations that force them to take this front of the war where it can make a difference.
So is not surprising that the Palestines may feel pro-russian and I expect we are going to see more pro-russian support manifestations, specially from African countries; specially if my hunch is correct and they are stopping the grain exports from Ukraine to pose themselves as saviours by distributing the grain as russian.
The Putin Effect
My granny was from Königsberg. She wasn’t repatriated to Eastern Germany, she and many many others fled. She ended up in Essen, by the way, not Eastern Germany. Many of the refugees (which, in this context, is still a strange term for me) found a new home in the FRG.
Whatever original means in this context, and also: what the heck is this “German” everyone keeps talking about since 1848 or something?
SCNR. Please consider this as a reminder that history, indeed, is written by the people who write it down and define the terminology.
I guess the status of Konigsberg could be subjected to a plebiscite, but the plebiscite would reflect a whole lot of ethnic cleansing by Stalin.
On a map, it looks like it should be part of some other country, but officially, those other countries don’t want it, and treating individuals like pawns to play geopolitical games strikes me as unjust. Perhaps the oblast should be demilitarized as a matter of treaty.
ETA @hecep beat me to it. Good news, and a finger up to Putin.
Russia is now visually confirmed to have lost 800 tanks since it began its invasion of Ukraine 125 days ago.
It seems to me that it is starting not to matter as much now just how many tanks, or ships, or troops, or generals Russia loses. What seems to matter more is how many artillery / missile launch sites get destroyed. Until Ukraine somehow manages to make big inroads into that, Ukraine will continue to be turned into rubble, town by town.
Russia’s latest tactic is air launched cruise missles. The planes fly to a point near ukraine, but still within russian borders. They missiles then fly to targets in ukraine.
Several options:
shoot down the missles. Very hard
Shoot down the plane-- which is within Russian airspace, something that Ukraine’s allies are loathe to do.
Hope that there aren’t that many missiles left-- or somehow destroy the stocks clandestinely.
This is an enormous expansion in NATO’s high-readiness Response Force that currently numbers 40,000, and quite frankly is just one step away from full mobilization.
Russia cannot agree to that, geostrategically.
If they would, they would basically cease to be even a regional power in Europe.
Incredible footage. None of this is funny, but the guy in the first clip, leaping over the fence into the water . . . panic does funny things to people’s brains.
