2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine (Part 2)

Nazis aren’t Nazis if there aren’t any people dehumansed enough to get shot.

Wagner Group should be brought up every time the Putin regime claims that they’re fighting fascism in Ukraine.

Saw that coming. Still, interesting that it happens now.

Are you talking about Rusich?

Meanwhile:

Short thread:

tl;dr The deaths in Luhansk might be part of a turf war between gangsters fighting over the spoils before they all run away.

I’m talking about Wagner Group as a whole. It’s a fascist organisation. Rusich is particularly explicit about the parent org’s ideology.

Do you know if there’s any information on whether the units in question are originals, or one of the upgraded variants?

Our Wiki Overlords list the 185, 186, 188, and 200 as upgraded variants of the original 180; and since the basic design doesn’t specify standard armament I’d imagine that people have futzed around with tacking on just about anything that doesn’t have enough recoil to require a vehicle more or less built around it; presumably accompanied by fire control systems ranging from ‘gunner poking his head dangerously into the open’ to ‘full remotely operated’; along with various up-armoring experiments ranging from ‘Mad Max’ to ‘really quite professional, within the limits of the engine and suspension’.

Even a 180 looks like it would beat riding in the back of a truck, since the amount of artillery used makes shrapnel protection a real virtue; but the 185, 186, and 200 look like they differ more or less significantly from the base model in terms of more engine and more armor.

If they are concerned enough about consistency to be troubled at all by that I imagine that they’ll simply emphasize that they are fighting ‘Ukrainian Fascism’; rather than ‘fascism in Ukraine’; since the latter would make using Russian fascists incongruous; but the former (while a nearly total lie based on the number of actual Ukrainian fascists who even exist, much less have any influence) doesn’t actually imply that any generally anti-fascist action is being taken, and is wholly compatible with using your fascists to do your dirty work.

AFAIK
XA-180 and XA-185 are the Finnish variations.
XA-186 was built for Norway.
XA-188 was built for Netherlands.
XA-20X are not amphibious.

So those are either XA-180 from the 80s or XA-185 from the 90s. I think pictured Pasi in that tweet is a XA-185 because I think that Sisu auto started to use that logo in the 90s.

Interesting that the commentator specifically says there are “negroes” fighting against Russians.

Probably because it’s ok to be defeated by “negroes”, on the grounds that they are big, scary, unstoppable brutes. Or, as racist white Americans would say, “thugs”.

Note that “prominent lawmakers” does not mean the same thing in Russia as it would in the US.

In America, long-serving representatives and senators have a lot of influence and actual power. In Russia, the Duma exists to promulgate Kremlin’s decisions, and to rubberstamp whatever Putin & co. want them to vote on.

While Putin remains alive under mysterious circumstances.
