I simply don’t have that kind of energy anymore.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Iowa from the Presidential election season every four years it’s that a disproportionate amount of the state’s politics center around publicly ingesting junk food.
You know what. Oh, you know what.
Uhhh. . . “chickenbutt”?
Given he’s a Republican, I’d have to guess that he means either fondling prepubescents, cruising for rent boys (after spending all day advocating for anti-LGBTQ legislation), or something else equally reprehensible.
Dude sounds just like David Lynch to me.
Now I wish someone would deepfake David Lynch saying that.
Oh wait, of course! David Lynch should deepfake David Lynch saying that.
“making good Dairy Queen”? WTF
He’s only 87? I thought he was 87 when he was my senator in the early 80s.
Did anyone already guess it’s buttfucking? Because I think it’s buttfucking.
you have to keep the advertisers happy, by mentioning the brand name as often as possible…
Yes, it’s a place just as real as Nevada (Nuh-VAY-duh) and Madrid (MAD-rid). Windsor Heights is a Des Moines suburb.
I could just imagine at the end of his weather report saying, “It looks like these clouds will burn away about midday. Beautiful blue skies ahead. Today I was thinking it would be a nice day to go out to Dairy Queen and do ‘you know what.’ I like getting the Reese’s, but today I might get Oreo. I like when they turn it upside down. High of 84 degrees. Everyone, have a great day!”
Wait, do you mean Nuh-Vay-Duh Missouri, whom we played against in HS football? Near to Versailles, MO (Ver-Sales)?
God, did that make me want to tear my hair out as a kid.
ETA: I see there’s also a Nuh-Vay-Duh Iowa. Lots of people gave up on their travels west, I guess.
You’d love Wichita, and the Arkansas (Ar-KAN-sas) Rivers. Actual correct pronunciation.
Yeah, I remember being corrected by Kansans on that one. So weird how artificial boundaries create real animosities instantly.
The way some Kansans see it, Arkansas is DOWN river, so they have no say in the matter.
(I’m not even sure they are connected by the waterways)
I suspect it’s the irony of “Heights” in Iowa. Much like Sterling Heights (which is neither) or Mount Pleasant (which is only the latter, and only occasionally) Michigan.
Are you from Michigan or just familiar with it?
