The unbelievable pressure put on children by conformists hasn’t lessened since my own impoverished, non-conformist childhood.
I had to ask my mom to stop making my sandwiches with her beautiful homemade bread b/c relentless lunchtime verbal abuse by my so-called peers. I wish I’d said, “Oh, you poor things! Don’t your moms love you enough to make bread for you, instead of giving you that cheap, processed stuff?”

The joke’s on all of these kids. If they touch the real Stanley Cup before having won it on the ice – gutting it out and gritting it out through the whole playoff gauntlet – then they never will win it!
