I was trail running up a canyon in CO and I’m pretty sure a congress of turkeys was stalking me. They had split in two, with one half up on a small 8-10foot berm above me. The other half was in the field I was running along hte edge of, looking amusing and friendly. Suddenly I looked up and the ones on the berm were scoping me out and looking hungry. Luckily I still had enough energy to turn up the speed and escape. It would not surprise me to learn that turkeys hunt humans!

I’ve had a semi-wild turkey come after me. The mail carrier has my sympathy.

In my case it was at a re-creation of a 17th century farm so the turkeys were a cross between true wold turkeys and domestic ones. Really big birds. My wife almost shoved me into them so they would move and let her get a closer look at the pigs.
