If you dig into the thread, British Sudafed (which he has most of there) is a different formulation that is (apparently, I don’t know) harder to get high on, but beloved but nasal consumers of various substances for its ability to relieve certain annoying side-effects of their habit.
No doubt someone turned him onto it after he complained about his issues, and he has locked onto that formulation as being the cure for all his troubles, as he tends to be a creature of both habit and obsession. In other words, he may not be getting high off that per se, just using it so he can keep up his other pusuits.
Looks like some formulations of Sudafed in the UK use xylometazoline which isn’t in available in the US, and I’m not familiar with it. (You can also get Sudafed in pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine formulations just like the US.)
Anyway, today I learned.
The House needs a police force. Stat!
(Whatever could go wrong with that?..)
A pain in the
ass sinuses when they removed all the good decongestants when some kitchen chemists managed to turn it into something else.
(As if a real drug operation is going to start with a pallet-load of Neo-Citran from the store.)
They have one, and at least hypothetically have the power to order Paul D. Irving to raise a posse and effect an arrest. It’s not been done since the 1930’s, but it could be. Given Congress’s plenary power over the District of Columbia, the posse would likely consist of the DC Metropolitan Police.
Long paper on the subject from the Congressional Research Service: https://fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/RL34097.pdf
I really hope Trump gets into a flame war with Pat Robertson.
Written in 2017, like somebody was actually thinking ahead…
It’s morons all the way down.
That he’s a Chinese emperor?
Like cockroaches complaining about the ‘turn on the lights culture’.
Maybe they can trick him into providing an opening for “ping pong balls”.
I’m with Ursula on this.
Possibly a callback to the theology of Hong Xiuquan.
The guy who helped bring the Humvee to the domestic car market had some interesting thoughts about the GOP and environmentalism
No. No. No. The GOP has never been about environmentalism. The one exception was teddy Roosevelt. But he was not a traditional Republican and in fact left the party, partially in frustration over Taft’s reversal of some of his environmental policies.
