It makes sense if you understand how he thinks. You are either kissing his ass, or you are a partisan out to get him.
That’s how lifelong Republicans like Muller, Comey and Rosenstein are “partisan hacks”.
He doesn’t need to know their identity. They are not kissing to his satisfaction. Ergo, they are out to get him.
It makes sense if we understand he doesn’t care if it makes sense or not. His strategy is deny every fact, defy every order, sue everybody and then sue them again and keep everything in court until it doesn’t matter anymore. He’s just running out the clock. It’s always worked for him before.

We actually have seen from him that he will bow out in the face of defeat and claim that it was a preemptive victory. Somehow.
It must be nice to be so simpleminded that you can look at the world so uncritically that literally everything can be broken down into a simple binary choice. Nuance? Facts? Circumstance? Nah, screw all that. They are saying something bad about me, ergo they are bad.
And unlike impeachment, which she’s repeatedly stated is guaranteed to go nowhere in the Senate, making it possible to indict a sitting president is definitely something that Mitch McConnell will allow to come to the floor for a vote.

This is the most passive-aggressive thing ever. “We won’t impeach you, but we’ll totally pass a bill that has no chance of becoming law that says that the DOJ, which you control, could indict you for the crimes we all know you’ve committed.” Like fucking hell just IMPEACH THE ASSHOLE.
