For as long as itās taken them to get the ball rolling on even having hearings, it blows my mind that so many Democrats are now going āyep, thatās it, we got him, pack it up and ship it to the Senate!ā this early into the process. Thereās 3 years of blatantly vile and unconstitutional garbage to dredge upāmost of it not even particularly well-hidden to begin withāand continue to drive him into conniptions over. Leaving aside the structural necessity to tear out all of this corruption root and branch, closing this entire inquiry down before Christmas just smacks of utter political incompetence, because it gives all of the leverage back to McConnell with just under an entire year before the election. Thatās plenty of time to bury and spin it as a Democratic hit-job that the president successfully defeated, rather than having blaring headlines rolling into November of 2020 proclaiming the 8 millionth flagrantly illegal thing the president has done this week (running on the likely assumption that even if articles of impeachment are delivered in overwhelming force and number, McConnell will bury them however he can to prevent Trumpās removal from office).
