People are funny that way.
Sometimes people in cults, who have experienced many years of seeing the bad things happen to other people without blinking, only wake up and leave when the bad things happen to them. Some people criticize them for that, but I think that frequently thatās what it takes: a close personal experience that canāt be diverted by subverted value judgements, excuses, thought-stopping or bubble-world defenses.
Letās see if this is a snapping moment for Geraldo, where he reevaluates everything. Of course, he knows which side of his pay check is buttered, so maybe heāll pull the wool back over his own eyes.

It makes me think of how people argue against rape culture by saying things like, āI could be your daughter, your sister, your motherā¦ā Itās absurd to me that somehow this could make something click for some people, but I think it really does. For some people they have to imagine something bad happening to someone they know to figure out why itās bad when something bad happens to someone.
