Maybe the “dirt” on all these republicans isn’t anything secret. It’s just that rightwing economic and social policy is not election winning on its own without the fear mongering and cult of personality. And to turn on trump is to alienate that riled up base you’ve created. Anyone who is not all-in on the Trump drug is already voting democrat. A non racist/Christi-fascist republican is a losing position. It’s why the democrats lost the south when they finally signed on with desegregation and voting rights in the 60s. And the gerrymandering has only made it worse with very little room for moderates in a lot of places.
