This affirms my belief that most scenes that get cut from movies are cut for a pretty good reason.
The only real gag here is that Buddy is a lot bigger than his peers and that occasionally puts them in danger of physical harm, and they got that across much more concisely with the “Buddy faints after learning he’s not a real elf” scene.
Yeah…no big surprise. Buddy’s a nice guy and wouldn’t want to hurt any of his friends. It’s out of character for him.
Wow! There’s a lot of work put into that scene. Just think of the cash that could have been saved if the production team had gone over the script one more time? Still, I guess that the cast and crew got paid; so that’s cool.
That’s not something that happens a lot in Hollywood.
