Also, if you don’t have a mic stand, do not duct-tape your microphone to the muzzle of an old French army rifle from Vietnam to use as a stand for your garage band’s practice session, even if you pull the bolt back to make sure the magazine is empty.
Don’t ask me how I know this either.

Well maybe not. The slide doesn’t move, there is no smoke or flash from the muzzle, but lots of smoke from the bottle. Hypotheses - fire cracker in the bottle.
