as a long time NIN fan, I can say that was not in the style of an NIN song. It was mush.

Yes. It’s hard to say that the original could get worse but this was a really strong effort at that.

I guess there are places where the texture is kind of NIN-like, but overall, no. It’s like how an “AI” (or even just a Photoshop filter) can easily reproduce the color palette or the film grain of an old movie, but it can’t make a video of industrial machinery look like Rear Window.

But this is so much better.
AI doesn’t have nearly enough human touch to make a mash up like this.

As a fellow longtime NIN fan, I agree. At best it was a NIN-like at small moments. At the same time, though, I thought it was a worthwhile attempt. I’d like to see more of this tech.
