Given the trendiness of salvage chic, this could be a major sub-industry for these ship-breakers. Surprised they haven’t started the next big furniture boutique…ISEA?

Perhaps it is and we just don’t know where to go.

Admiral’s House, Hampstead

If I remember rightly a retired sea-captain did a similar thing on a smaller scale elsewhere in Hampstead. It has porthole windows and a first-floor deck and when I used to pass it most days it was painted blue and white. But I haven’t found a picture on line.

A lot of ships in the age of sail were flipped over and converted to houses. I’ve heard that’s what became of the Mayflower, but that’s unsubstantiated.

And then there are these follies.
