Nailed it.

It doesn’t benefit Dems to try and win over Repub voters. This election was the ultimate test case. The GOP had no platform; no policies. None. Zero. And voting fell right along party lines. Without mail-in voting and the resulting high voter turnout, Dems would have lost.

Stop pandering to Repubs, even the Never Trumpers (who probably voted for him, anyway.)

Instead, be absolutely fucking ruthless about things that affect elections - eradicate voter suppression in every corner of the country; introduce national vote-by-mail standards; win the judiciary at every level; win enough at the state level to bring about the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.

Keep pushing progressive policies that help everyone - even the Repub voters, who will probably never support you. Because, here’s the thing: the only piece of Dem legislation that has made a dent in their perception has been Obamacare - the ACA. It’s the one thing they can easily identify as having made a significant improvement in their lives.

So give them M4A - they will hate it; they will call it socialism; they will fight it tooth and nail. But when it’s been going for a few years, the realization will start to take hold. They will still hate Dems, but when their GOP politicians start to go after M4A, to tear it down, the same people will go to bat for it, just like we saw for the ACA.

Then do the same for the Green New Deal.

there’s nothing really that could make me like george w after suffering through him as both president and governor but this makes me hate him less. the bit about “elected republicans” strikes me as some good shade-throwing

I don’t guess this counts as “resistance” but it’s been going through my head for the past half-hour or so. I’m not sure how or why it got there.

It’s the chorus and last part of “Save a Prayer” but with these words:

Don’t save a prayer for me now
Donald Trump’s a jive-ass turkey. No,
Don’t save a prayer for me now
Donald Trump’s a jive-ass turkey-y-y-yy…

Dooo-dooo-dooooooo
Donald Trump is a jive-ass turkey,
Donald Trump is a jive-ass turkey,
Donald Trump is a jive-ass turkey,
Donald Trump is a jive-ass turkey
(Etc.)

In case you need a refresher, here’s the video (hopefully?) cued up to the portion in question

This means voting and re-enfranchisement should be the #1 priority just like after 2016. Preach democracy, raise the turnout, expand statehood so that the United States is literally only united states and not states and territories and whatever else. Don’t aim low for republican independents and Raegan Democrats, expand the voting pool and win them.

I can’t agree. Bush is just a nicer Trump and almost if not equally devastating to America, so him continuing to be a dumb likeable war criminal whose image is being softened with time doesn’t give me confidence in the future.

Interesting that he avoided the correct word, consciousness, when he cut the presser out. :face_with_monocle:

He probably used the right word for him, “countenance,” which is about appearance; vs. “conscience,” which he has none of.

What Duke said; dude intentionally used the correct word, that was no error.
