Not all antifa action is violent (community self-defence would be a more accurate term), in fact the majority of it is non-violent activism. Antifa would prefer people choose to not be fascist than to have fights with them.
I am supportive of ex-fascists who become anti-fascists, but I prefer that they start with non-violent anti-fascism at least until they are settled in their new life. Moving from one form violence to another leaves the fear that they will move on to more violence once there is no more fighting between fascism and antifa.

It’s not even that they might tend towards violence. If they take up a new cause without dealing with their own issues that lead to them becoming a neo-Nazi in the first place, then they’re risking those resurfacing in a personal crisis down the road.

True, which is why part of antifa is actively supporting people who leave fascism. Mutual aid is an important part of the movement.
