While I’m expecting @Dredrotten 's antisemitic posts to be eaten shortly, this is a good chance to discuss one other point (mentioned in passing up-thread)–that of the Jewish/Zionist Occupational Government conspiracy theorists (generally acronymed as ZOG), of which this poster is a prime example.
Without quoting the post directly (because I don’t want this one going away as by-catch), the attitude of “The Jews Control The Banks/Media/Government/Congress” is pretty classic antisemitism, and has been used to incite the sorts of attacks mentioned up-thread for centuries.
One specific point mentioned was that “the Jews have been kicked out of over 200 European countries (sometimes twice) since the 1500s, Always for the same thing, ursury, stripping the host country of their finances, causing wars and strife and infiltrating the political system.” This wasn’t true when the Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion was published, and it is still not true.
Now, first off, this is literally Nazi propaganda (as in “can be found in the pages of Mein Kampf and Der Sturmer”), with the various accusations of nefarious “infiltrations” and the incitement of wars, and the control of the political system (as they lead, of course, to the natural conclusion of ‘destroy the Jews in our own “defense”’).
Secondly, it’s ignorant on multiple levels (there haven’t been 200 distinct European countries in the last 500 years! And Jewish expulsions from European countries date back over a thousand years. England in the 1200s, Spain in 1492, etc), especially when it comes to the aspect of urusry. The reason that Jews were forced to engage in loans and banking during the medieval period was that the Church banned Christians to loan each other money, and Jews were banned from nearly all trades; this forced us to be moneylenders in order to survive–and, when the peasants got upset with the behavior of the princes, the Jews could be scapegoated and expelled (and, amazingly, the debts that the princes owed them were nullified).
As a final note, a friend of mine that runs a Judaism blog has a little corollary to Godwin’s Law that he calls “Chaim’s Law” If you try to redefine “anti-semitism” as a core part of your argument about why you aren’t anti-semitic, you lose the argument.
