Republicans are just using you for window dressing, the same way they use any other minority that wants into their club. The moment they don’t think they need you - or the moment their true base rears its ugly head like this - you will be abandoned. Desantis won’t lift a finger to stop this, and nobody is surprised by that.

As I say, neo-nazis come in many stripes. Some of them aren’t even white or Christian. Being a given demographic doesn’t preclude being one. Especially if they spout the same positions and support the rest of them.

It always comes back to antisemitism. Always. Watching chunks of this country drop down that hole is agonizing, and I am a SWM, under no threat (initially) from these asshats. For the groups under threat, the daily stress is unimaginable. I don’t for a moment blame those who have the resources for fleeing the evolving Reich. I feel deeply for those who cannot, though. They will bear the brunt of this.

Just considering purely political Machiavellian-ism, a candidate for president has first to appeal to their ‘base’ to gain the nomination (ok, desantis wins there, "lib"eral sensibilities have been attacked in almost every-way possible), but then they must perform a magic trick, pivot, and appear more moderate to appeal to the country in general. (“well, notwithstanding electoral college, gerrymandering, and vote fraud”) So here’s my threadbare point: desantis cannot perform this pivot. trump cannot perform this pivot. and someone like nikky haley will not win the nomination. Therefore, it’s likely Pollyanna, but they can’t win. …without an armed insurrection that is. -sigh-

Being abandoned would be better than the actual plan.
Xtians believe that all Jewish people have to move to Israel, then convert to their warped variety of Christianity for the second coming of Christ to happen. That obviously isn’t going to happen, so what we are actually looking at is the deportation of Jewish people to be sent to re-education camps.
