I imagine Stuart Semple waiting around the corner with a baseball bat covered in Black 3.0, just waiting to bat the vantablack sphere out of Anish Capoor’s hands.

For some folks’ edification (the asshole who has exclusive rights to the paint version)…

Neat

Luckily there’s an alternative, and he’s not allowed to use it, hehehe.

Best explanation I have seen so far. Those microscopic photos of the aligned tubes clarify why you can’t just buy and apply this like paint from the art store.

But color me skeptical of the videos showing how little detail can be seen; you can do that even with grey materials by just adjusting black level in the editing bay. Today anything that can’t be shown in a video is truly rare, and I can’t wait to see some large scale art in person.
