A thread of our own- misogyny (Part 1)

I used to like Chuck Woolery - until I learned about his awful political leanings.

I never did; his inherent douche-baggery came through loud and clear, even back when he was hosting the Love Connection.

I was too young/oblivious to recognize his creep factor when Love Connection was on. Then he became kind of a meme in the early 2000s when he had a reality TV run that I found entertaining at the time.

Then his awful politics and ideology came to light and I came to realize what a douche cannon he actually is.

I just think itā€™s funny because I also know how upset heā€™d be if some one like me had five children who thought just like me. Especially if any of them were girls.

I just hope I donā€™t get pulled over at the No Tell Motel and asked for my license.

Not a fan of Taylor Swift, but this sucks for her.

Goddamn, thatā€™s fucking awful. Unfortunately this kind of ā€œback catalog revengeā€ isnā€™t a rare or uncommon occurrence. The music industry is filled with terrible people pulling the strings.

Ugh. So the music industry is stiil complete shit for artists. (Though yeah, I do hesitate to use that word for her.)

That sucks.

Oh for fuckā€™s sake, even him? I am so heartily sick of this nonesense, and would like to humbly apologize to my sisters for my gender being such a shit show. In all honesty, how do you not just go apeshit regularly? I am pretty sure i would.

This and the replies:

How fucking sick is it that we have to know these things? But men (apparently) donā€™t need to.

Samsara is perpetuated by oneā€™s karma, which is caused by craving and ignorance

How about this response to AOCā€™s calling out Ivanka for trying to pretend she actually belonged at the summit:

Managed to get in a dig at the ā€œnew Americansā€ (presumably brown-skinned immigrants) to make sure there was just a soupƧon of racism too.

I followed the link and got completely confused. Metaphysics not my thing, I guess?

I think they do know. It just seems like common sense to me

Itā€™s also worth noting that every car made after 2001 is required by federal law to have an internal trunk release handle for exactly this reason. It needs to have a glow in the dark phosphoric coating and be in an easy to access location. (Many cars had these for a few years prior even before this became law.)

They differ in appearance but most cars have a pull handle of some kind that looks like this:

Others will have a lever or push button. Regardless, it has to be both conspicuous and easy to activate.

Wow, that isā€¦ holy shit, that is awful. I canā€™tā€¦ Wow. (Love the ā€œitā€™s about drinksā€ because of course it is.)

Heā€™s talking about a duly elected U.S. Representative. Doesnā€™t matter what position you attain in life as a woman, youā€™re going to get sexist insults from jerks every single day.

Nope, did not know that. Didnā€™t know about the internal release handle either. But that kinda proves @MalevolentPixyā€™s point, doesnā€™t it?
