I was too young/oblivious to recognize his creep factor when Love Connection was on. Then he became kind of a meme in the early 2000s when he had a reality TV run that I found entertaining at the time.
Then his awful politics and ideology came to light and I came to realize what a douche cannon he actually is.

Itâs also worth noting that every car made after 2001 is required by federal law to have an internal trunk release handle for exactly this reason. It needs to have a glow in the dark phosphoric coating and be in an easy to access location. (Many cars had these for a few years prior even before this became law.)
They differ in appearance but most cars have a pull handle of some kind that looks like this:
Others will have a lever or push button. Regardless, it has to be both conspicuous and easy to activate.
