That’s a function of having been Soviet for a while. Women were used to working any and all jobs and getting the same pay as the men for them.

Oh, I wasn’t saying we should emulate the Soviets! Just that there were these glimmers of how things really could be different, under better circumstances.

I wouldn’t mind going all-out socialist, just as long as it doesn’t result in yet another authoritarian state.
Democratic socialism seems to be the best bet from where I sit.
In the event, I could live with Rhenish capitalism, mer muss och jünne künne isn’t bad as a guideline.
