A satisfying conclusion to the 1976 BMW R9OS saga.

You might be done with it.

That is indeed pretty tragic, hope you can get it repaired but i can’t imagine doing so will be easy or cheap

My condolences. It always hurts when a treasured machine like this gets damaged. Hopefully it’ll fix up like new.

Ack - that’s no fun at all. So long as the soft bits absorbed the hit and the frame is still good all is probably not lost.

Tell me more about the mechanics you’ve found who do value adjustments

The thunder roared.

The lightning flashed.

The tree fell down.

The bike was smashed.

Our house is surrounded by trees and every wind storm makes them look more and more sinister. Could be time to cut one or two.

Better tree hits motorcycle than motorcycle hits tree.

That SUCKS. The biggest losses are the tank dent, fairing, and gauges. Those are neither fixable or easily replaced. The term “unobtanium” comes to mind to describe what those are made of. As long as the frame is okay, everything else can probably be sourced. Your mechanic will know better than I would.

I also arrived at the same conclusion.
