Aerial photo of John Travolta's house looks like if you asked an AI for a picture of mansion that was also an airport terminal

Austin has an actual neighborhood (Breakaway) that was set up for people that own their own planes.

You can see many homes that have hangars directly on the runway, and a bunch of other hangars for people that don’t live next to the runway.

It used to be way outside the city limits, but the city has grown up around it.

Lots of trailers nearby, It used to belong to the guy who started Nautilus exercise equipment. Flew in elephants on 747s. Cocaine 80s were wild times.

The Domain was after my time in AUS but I’m familiar with it - which part of Burnet Rd. do you mean? My other apt. in the flight path was near Woodrow & Koenig, walking distance from Burnet Rd. It all seems to have changed with the rest of the city, if not nearly so tony as The Domain.

Wow, I didn’t remember that at all - I was almost never out that way but I’d think I would’ve heard about it, e.g. when Mueller Airport closed, along with the private Skypark(?) between Austin & Pflugerville (built over with Dell bldgs. IIRC), in the context of where any other airports were located in the area.

There are a bunch of these - I remember coming across it from the video embedded in this article

Yet in the end, despite all of the mansion excesses and the jet aircraft, he’s still John Travolta. All a bit sad really.

We’re here in south LA, right near the airport.

Small private airport appears to have a couple houses on the south side with direct access to the runway.
