Apropos on many levels!
Especially, the whistleblower recognizing the source of danger and wisely prioritizing damage to that (crude, out-of-control, easy-to-replace) thing over the rather more delicate and vastly more important upcoming elections.

Yes. That was an actual incident where a plane with its props in pitch and nobody in the cockpit rolled forward on its own. Mythbusters did a show about it.

Ah its not the case I was thinking of.
Light aircraft have blind spots forward/down, and back/up. Two aircraft in the circuit over a small airfield in outer Melbourne thus collided. A local pilot commented he just chewed his way along the fuselage
