I guess I prefer this to “better than humans.” People often attempt to write lyrics without understanding the meaning behind them, like in this case:

“As well as a human” is kind of a big net to cast. Most humans are likely lousy song writers, so if that’s the bar then yeah i’m sure this AI is no worse.

I was very pleased to discover that my partner had never heard Make My Funk the P-Funk by Parliament. Watching her experience those ‘lyrics’ was one of the many highlights of a pretty awesome evening. Ain’t no bot gonna get anywhere near that level of… uhh… well, whatever the hell you’d call that sort of thing.
