I think you are missing my point. They may proactively slaughter every albatross they can find to keep them from being used as spies - they don’t need to fina a particular albatross. The killing could even include slaughtering whole nesting colonies

I was replying to @jandrese who was playfully analyzing the comment by @CarlMud who was making an oblique reference to The Rime of the Ancient Mariner which is the source of the idiomatic expression an albatross around one’s neck which former real-life mariner @Papasan also subsequently playfully referencing.
Your point is certainly a valid concern, but I’m afraid it wasn’t the one I was addressing.
