Fuck cancer.
Not that he’d ever read a blog like BBS, but I would encourage him to leave his job, seek treatment anywhere on Earth that demonstrates efficacy with Stage IV, and live out the rest of his days with his family.

Unless he likes his job and would prefer to keep doing it instead of spending his final days prolonging the inevitable. There’s no one right way to deal with a Stage IV cancer diagnosis.
