This reminds me of another cover that takes a pop song and reworks it to be down tempo and melancholy .
I really did not expect to like that as much as I like that.
This seems most fitting to my Smash mouth experience. They were performing a free show in the St. Clair river on a barge. One borded the barge using a walker (zimmer) and one used a cane. Show was hilarious. Bunch of old guys being handed stuff from nimble roadies. This tempo really seems more their speed.
I like how it -has lyrics- until the second and third singers come in and enforce rekt voicing. Really distinguishes the remix.
We could all use a little chaise.
…killing it with planet-lassoing spiders.
Singamajig!
Better than their recent work, like “Superspreader”.

When it comes to slow covers of rock songs, I’ve always been partial to Frazier Chorus’ version of “Anarchy in the UK” from 1989.
