Alternative Twitter front-end kills the cruft

The obvious flaw is that it’s still Twitter.

There are very few things that I prefer the mobile version of over desktop, but twitter on a browser is just about unusable

So many times I go to click on a tweet and something else shifts into that spot at the last possible moment

And once you’ve scrolled down far enough something further up will start glitching making the text you’re reading randomly flicker up and down

Actually though the new layout on the app is less pleasant to read than fucking reddit

I just can’t get on with nested replies like that

Yay! Ad-free front-page!

Pot, meet kettle

It seems familiar. This might be a repetition of a cycle that we saw when third-party instant messaging clients front-ended AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). History repeats itself (or at least rhymes).
