This seems really… pointless.
Not like 3D was useful on Nintendo’s gaming devices either.
But just think of the opportunity to release a cost-reduced version without the gimmick in an embarrassing tacit admission of failure! Opportunities like that don’t come every day.
That moment happens a lot in my life. It’s usually a sign of someone elses not telling you the plan, and guessing can be fun. So, when that happens I like to look at it from the other side of things.
Who would find a gazillion wireless, networked, cameras with microphones and facial recognition software, useful? An arch villain in a dystopian work of fiction, right? How many mandatory firmware rollouts would it take for dystopian fiction to seem slightly less paranoid?
