I really don’t know how to make this statement any easier to understand.
I don’t think “scapegoat” is quite the right word as she isn’t being blamed for any problems she didn’t cause. I do agree that the story has served as a distraction from more serious issues though.
You may assume that your take on the comment came across as clearly the first go round, it appeared to be solely about how it was posted about here - which (maybe pedantically) is how some folks change the subject. Not you, but you might allow my confusion as to your original point?
