“If I knew then what I know now – that i would face consequences for my actions –   I would have declined to represent Donald Trump in these post-election challenges,” Ellis tearfully told the judge. “I look back on this experience with deep remorse… unless he makes it back into office. then i regret this instead”

“It was Harrison Floyd’s team,” Todd Harding, Floyd’s attorney, said in an email thread with the DA’s office, apparently acknowledging they leaked the videos. The email chain includes current and former defense attorneys on the case.

In a subsequent email, Harding called the prior email admission “a typo.”

So, if I understand this properly, Trump’s team got their hands on this info through discovery, then released it to the press in an effort to intimidate the witnesses? Seriously? How is this not an actionable crime?

so that I can go to sleep well tonight, judge, I did release those videos to one outlet," Miller told Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee during the hearing. “In all candor to the court, I need the court to know that,” he said.

ah that’s nice. all’s good now that he’s cleared his conscience

The DA’s office argued in court filings that a protective order was [now] necessary “in order to protect witnesses and to safeguard sensitive and confidential information” during the discovery process. It said the leaks were "clearly intended to intimidate witnesses in this case, subjecting them to harassment and threats prior to trial

I am told that addressing a judge as “judge” in court instead of “your honor” is a good way to tick them off, especially coming from a lawyer.

Hard to tell if this guy is just staggeringly incompetent or has some secret strategy that involves directing all the court’s anger at him specifically.

I was wondering if it was some of Trump’s former lawyers, still in the loop, still unpaid, but no.

It’s hard to imagine lawyers still on the clock, with a client, who thought that was a good idea.

I think you may be overestimating the level of lawyers who are still willing to work for the Trump circle.

I suspect many of them could only dream of aspiring to the level of a Lionel Hutz.

it’s so ridiculous. if ■■■■■’s joke of a legal team had real concerns about the partisanship of the judge’s clerk then they could seek a mistrial. bashing a specific member of the court during a trial, inciting harassment and encouraging violence, none of that is remotely protected speech.

Yep, totally true. There are mechanisms for dealing with actual bias in the court, and xitting about it isn’t it.

And if any other defendent did this, they would be held accountable. For many, the judge would skip straight to contempt and jail time.

The audio from the Trump gag order appeal is on msnbc now.

The judges are giving the Trump lawyer some very tough questioning.
