kind of reminds me of a certain harvard president…
I’m not sure if it’s disqualifying, but if true it’s a really bad look and it’s not the kind of behavior we should wave away for our civil servants.
As for the “we have to hold Republicans to the same standards” part I’d say “don’t threaten me with a good time.”
But in essence, I’m saying the converse of your last statement. If Willis is held accountable where Republicans are not, we need to raise hell until they are. Accepting that double-standard is almost as bad as advancing it.
I’m not saying Willis should be removed from the case. I’m saying it’s a genuinely bad look.
But that’s what this whole thing is about:
From the CNN article:
The Fulton County judge overseeing the Georgia election subversion case has also set a February 15 hearing to consider another motion seeking to disqualify Willis over allegations of an “improper” relationship with Nathan Wade.
That’s what they’re arguing, not me.
I’m saying that if the allegation is true, she made a bad choice.
Fuckin A.
And like Mindy said, such behavior is barely given a sideways glance whenever Cis-het White men do it… IF there is even any substance to these particular accusations.
The phrasing of previous comments make it seem like you’ve already formed a negative opinion; just sayin’.
There’s nothing in this that colors the case against the defendants.
And yet this kind of thing was entirely common for decades when white men dominated everything… all of a sudden, they care about the very things that they’ve been doing for all of eternity…
And of course, nothing has been proven. It’s still all rumors and speculation, so it’s a little disappointing that so many people are just like “well, clearly Fani is corruption and she should have known better…” Like, you think Black women don’t know what they face on a daily basis with regards to how they’re constantly scrutinized?
Oh good… I was starting to think my posts were invisible…
Our democracy is on the line here and I wish people could keep their eyes on the prize here…
I have XX-ray vision; it allows me to view all the insightful comments from women that Dudes Who Always Know Everything never seem to see!
Why propagate likely misinformation, then?
They used to say:
“A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”
With deepest respect to you, @KathyPartdeux, @Melizmatic, @anon61221983 and @gatto the accusations themselves don’t bear the obvious hallmarks of misinformation as the other side literally brought the receipts [ETA: link] and Willis herself still hasn’t denied any of it.
Obviously, none of this has any direct bearing on the evidence brought against Trump.
And with that I’m gonna shut up about it now.
Sheesh, the MAGAs in the U.S. House of Representatives are DARVO-ing daily.
Hourly.
At TFG’s behest.
Block all legislation coming from the Senate side, making sure Biden’s administration takes the fall. Attack Biden’s presidency as a failure. Etc.
With all due respect right back:
I’ll consider the source and reserve my judgement until said “receipts” are actually in hand.
You have yourself a good night, now.
Likewise, but the best response to “when did you stop beating your wife when did you stop sleeping with your special prosecutor” is silence.
I made no other assertions other than it had no bearing on the legal case and arguments.
E Jean Carroll case adjourned today because juror down with COVID…
Kaplan also confirmed that Alina Habba and Michael Madaio tested negative for Covid-19 in court this morning. They took Covid tests because Habba said she had dinner with her parents three days ago and now they have Covid. Habba said she had a fever and isn’t feeling well, though she has not tested positive.
Habba did not appear to be wearing a mask. Trump was sitting next to her in the courtroom.
Shame if trump got sick again.
Is the court taking her word on that?
