honestly, that’s my opinion of the whole situation
Ok, I have to run. That’s it for my commentary for now,
The whole cash reimbursement seems odd but all the legal analysis I’m reading still says so what.
None of this changes the facts of the trial they’re trying to distract from.
And how come every other person in the country can produce tax records when asked except for that one guy.
Yeah my take is “if Willis and Wade owe anyone an explanation for their relationship and/or financial conflicts of interest it is the citizens of Georgia, not Trump or his legal team.”
I flipped over to Fox, of course they are concerned about any do not recall answers.
And honestly I didn’t hear a lot of I don’t recall.
But when their people can’t recall it’s just fine.
On a side note… That’s a lot of vacations, I haven’t even dreamed about that many vacations.
Trump’s attorney eventually got to her point on the travel line of questioning. She asked him about trip after trip until he couldn’t recall one (or rather, until he thought for several seconds before answering) so that she could say that he was on so many trips that he couldn’t remember them all.
Agreed, but the latest convoluted argument that I heard on the radio from the Trump lawyers today was something like
- Willis was inappropriately benefiting financially from her relationship with Wade
- The longer the trial lasts, the more financial benefit she would receive
- Therefore, Willis has an improper incentive to drag the trial out as long as possible, which isn’t fair to Trump, who is entitled to a quick and speedy trial.
Obviously that’s a ridiculous argument, especially coming from a legal team that is doing everything possible to drag out this and all his other trials as long as possible.
Back listening in… they were just asking about Wade’s “sexual relations while he was married, even after separation”… This has nothing to do with nothing…
“entertained”?
Everyone was tap dancing around that except Colorado’s lawyer and the US government. H.R. 3325 (passed by both the House and Senate and signed by President Biden August 5th, 2021 to become Public Law 177-32) states in its Findings section:
(2) On January 6, 2021, a mob of insurrectionists forced its
way into the U.S. Capitol building and congressional office
buildings and engaged in acts of vandalism, looting, and
violently attacked Capitol Police officers.
If you have “a mob of insurrectionists” you kind of have to have an insurrection, don’t you?
Drama.
Here we go.
She’s had enough.
Former President Donald Trump will likely be sentenced to between one and four years in prison if convicted in the Stormy Daniels hush money case, an attorney and former ambassador said.
Norm Eisen said that he and his team at the Just Security think tank analyzed “hundreds of comparable cases” and calculated that Trump can expect a sentence of between one year and four months on the lower end and four years on the higher end for each of the counts in the indictment. Each sentence would likely run concurrently, he said.
Don’t get me wrong, I want to believe, but just how comparable are these cases they’re comparing, I wonder? I can’t recall even one example of a prominent politician doing serious prison time for something like this.
Still if this ends up being the thing that gets him off the streets and off the ballot I’m all for it.
I wouldn’t say drama, I would say righteous anger on Willis’ part.
I meant more like they couldn’t have scripted a better commercial break.
Both sides arguing she takes the stand she doesn’t take the stand and then she walks in and says let’s go.
That was a great bit of drama or surprise.
She’s very good.
You don’t get to be District Attorney of a major metropolitan area by being bad at your job. Generally, anyway.
Marge is watching.
Like Marge doesn’t have weapons, food buckets, and cash in her basement
Fani just advised that you should have six months of expenses in cash at your house at all times.
Home invasions in Fulton County are about to sky rocket!
And Fani won’t prosecute because she’s only trying to get Trump!
The video streamed paused, and this was the image it stuck on…
I feel like her face is all our faces nowadays…
Some analysis from today’s testimony, in case folks couldn’t watch any and all of it…
And MSNBC has her whole testimony…
It’s good to remember that Trump spent more time on vacation and campaigning than he did on the job when he was president.
and thank god really. i suspect if there’s a next time, we wouldn’t be so lucky.
