I think they will send this back to the lower courts to and make them figure out which acts are the “official acts”. Which is stupid but does delay any trial further and further into our authoritarian future.

That’s not what that phrase means. It means we have to make our voices heard to force the courts to do what’s right. It DOES NOT mean “shut up and vote.”
the conservatives are really concerned about establishing a “rule for the ages.” which to me seems just ridiculous.
they reached into this specific case and these specific facts to pry open this discussion, and now they want to create general rules unrelated to this case

not only that, but these conservatives reached down to override decades of abortion precedent. so none of this is in any way actually permanent. they’re trying to bend the system their way, clearly. ( alito bringing up property rights!? dear god. )
My oath is to faithfully administer the laws and Constitution; but my doing crimes is somehow exempt from that requirement.

But last Tuesday, Bragg’s office surprised the world. During opening statements, prosecutors made the centerpiece of the felony “kicker” not federal election law, but a fairly obscure New York state law, found at Election Code Section 17-152.
No federal elements- nothing to even try to hang a Presidential pardon on.
And it won’t leave the jury wondering “Why didn’t the federal DA prosecute that?” (Because Barr fired him.)
