That’s unmistakably a particularly famous variant of Tux that’s been circulating for a decade or two, is it not?
Two minutes of Googling does not reveal the particular origins of this one. Wikipedia refers to something similar as Tux crystal.

Probably sharing info no one cares about (sorry 
) … Crystal was an icon set somewhere around the KDE2/3 days. Probably under a FLOSS compatible license. Not at a computer right now.

That was my thought as soon as I saw the picture on the article. Apparently it worked on me, though, as I’ve added it to my Amazon wish list with a note of “Penguins, of course!”
