As I said, I didn’t get that from the post on her website at all, although, as I also said, I have not read through all her tweets so I entirely believe she may have said all manner of stupid things.

That is why I asked for pointers here (not because this is a trans forum but because it is the kind of place where people more educated than me on these topics congregate).
Yeah that was a defense of Rowling - and those talking points are standard bullshit talking points that transphobes use to try and make themselves seem reasonable.
Ask yourself why would a cisgender man who’s a criminal try to appear to be a trans woman to commit a crime when they could just say they were a trans guy and supposed to be in the women’s rest room according to JK? How many cis gender guys have assaulted women- both cis and trans women? How many were pretending to be trans women when they were doing so? Zip. How much more difficult is it for them - who can’t pass as women- to try and present as such - walk down the street while being noticed by everyone- walk into a building while being noticed by everyone- to perpetrate a crime? That’s some criminal mastermind right there.
Every single police department that looked at this issue showed no increase in rest room illegal activities or men pretending to be trans women to commit crimes in the decades silence equality laws were passed in their jurisdictions. But sure - blame trans women for what cisgender guys might but didn’t do.
Why punish trans women for what cisgender men do or might do? Shouldn’t you be punishing cis guys?
We get raped by cisgender men - where’s the urgency to protect us?
