MLB moves All-Star Game out of Atlanta following voting law controversy - ABC News (go.com)
Consequences, assholes, consequences.
had to be done. anything to get the point across that voter suppression is unacceptable
Weirdly, a bunch of republicans are blaming Stacey Abrams for the boycotts, even though sheâs pretty explicitly against them and wants companies and MLB to stay in the state and fight these laws, even though sheâs happy they are speaking out against this law specifically.
Sheâs a Black woman: of course itâs her faultâŚwhatever âitâ weâre talking about.
Well yeah, except for the whole creepy tendencies thing; sure.
Definitely. More meant to highlight the Scalzi take, than Morgan Freemanâs character. And frankly, any dissension of the form âX is problematicâ is a solid argument against putting anyone on pedestals. Iâm probably thwacking a dead idea at this point, but hero worship is toxic and bad for the gander.
Right on.
I think the thing I like most about Scalzi is that he seems the sort to say donât put me on a pedestal.
(And think the best way to respect him is by not doing so.)
TrolololoâŚ

âThis is a memorial service that is part of the whole purpose for the parkâs existence,â OâToole said.
Well, heâs not wrong. Thing is, he is making an argument for the removal of the thing!
Holy moley! Between this and the âJoints for Jabsâ story, I almost wish I lived in DC again!
(Almost, but not quite).
What an exciting time!
