Mit media lab?
Donāt you mean active misinformation?
Oh for the love of F*********
Non medical non scientist defies basically the core of modern epidemiology. Stupid people mistake fame for actually knowing what heās talking about. Film at 11.
Iām more pissed off that some arsehole bankrolled that criminal Wakefield into a new career.
I canāt believe Wakefield isnāt in prison.
Heās a fraud whoās grift is still costing lives.
I am completely vaxxed. Today I developed the exact symptoms of pertussis. It probably isnāt, but after talking to a doc and two RNs the efficacy for the Whooping Cough vax is less than 80%. Herd immunity is the only statistically viable prevention method.
So whether I have Whooping Cough or not (probably acute bronchitis), fuck anti vaxxers.
Fine but do it with a large needle filled with vaccines.
Film at 11, preventable deaths at 12.
I liked this, but then I felt bad because I donāt like it.
cackle!
Apparently the pertussis vaccine was changed a decade or so ago. There were people with actual, measurable bad effects (seizures, rashes) from the entire virus. So now the vaccine is only a partial amount of the virusāwhich isnāt a big deal when most are vaccinated.
But when Marin parents decide they want to control the vax schedule, even up to date adults have a significant chance of contracting a preventable disease.
In my case itās likely something else, but there have been pertussis outbreaks in the bay area the last three years running. (And I like breathing)
Well hopefully its something more benign.

Definitely not. Iāve dodged that bullet, but a friend of mine had it and it was nasty. He did share his pain meds though, which were pretty fucking good.
Letās keep in mind that the doctor behind the original, discredited study claiming an MMR/autism link was British.
I mean that in the USA, rights are individual.
Elsewhere they are at the discretion of a sovereign.
That is a rough summary, please look for the point and not how to point out that obvious oversimplification is overly simple. It is, quite simple.
This was the central foundational principle of the USA, at least as far as the folks who wrote the Constitution (and declaration of Independance). But this is not how government and culture works world wide.
So I asked where you were speaking from.
I notice you didnāt bother to answer my question, rather handling it like a debate point to be recast. I didn;'t realize we were arguing. I was just curious. Thank you for your good faith contributions.
Wonder if this kid has autism⦠https://youtu.be/-8zI5MHTuF4
The way this debate is framed, youāre either an anti-vaxxer, or youāre a true believer. Only an antivaxxer would have a problem with this video, because parents canāt be trusted to want the best protection for their children. It would be inconvenient to space these shots out. Also it would be prohibitively expensive, especially so under for-profit health care.
This is the cheapest, most convenient way to administer vaccines. When in history has the cheapest, most convenient way to do something not also been the safest?
So, if weāre talking about the makers of the drugs, money is not interesting. The drugs are a loss leader, that just doesnāt matter.
If weāre talking about a few mustache twirling, evil researchers, then the money trail is the story. Because itās their terrible record for falsehood we should be paying attention to, not big pharma.
If this were the 50s, Iād expect them to be accused of membership in the communist party. A smear campaign uses a very specific kind of language, you might look it that someday, too.
