Anyone interested in more on measles?

One bit of good news.

“[Judge] Frame decided that [the father] should have sole responsibility for the medical and dental treatments for both boys and that they should be immunized according to Immunization B.C.'s immunization schedule.”

There is a way to do this, if only there were a tech company willing to…
Oh, look!

While I am nowhere near the impact level of Dr. Gorski, after speaking at a maternal health symposium in support of routine vaccination I was threatened with picket lines at my office and a number of 1-star reviews appeared on our web site (from folks we had no record of actually having seen, of course.) Supporting those willing to take on these assholes should be a high priority item.

Not measles, but some good news on vaccines:

Biology has slain two of the four horsemen. Famine is dead, at least from a productivity standpoint. Now if we could just get our over abundance of food to the people who need it. Hey, physics, you done with that teleporter, yet?

Arguably, that was Chemistry.

Between fertilizer and genetics, I’ll take genetics. The fertilizer isn’t very sustainable.

Aiding and abetting.

Careful, though. That has led to monocultures which runds a real risk of reviving both those horsemen, for many species.

Haber-Bosch process and 78% of nitrogen in the atmosphere disagree.

I was thinking same thing. Fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides. Now, again, arguably, these compounds may ultimately bring a new horseman: ecological collapse. But then there’s nothing that physical biochemistry couldn’t overcome if we throw enough money at it.

… and I STILL haven’t gotten autism.

(Feeling more than a little snarky about this after an encounter with the willfully ignorant.)

The Life of Louis Pasteur was on the TV the other day. The following few minutes should be required watching for anti-vaxxers:

More stupid misinformed misjudgment. Damned stupid timeline.

The misinformation was pointed to as the cause of the drop in vaccination rates, but of those unvaccinated how many were due to lack of affordability? The article doesnt say, but since you’re in the biz is that much of a factor?

Not generally for vaccines. Health departments will give them free if you have no insurance, and ACA compliant policies cover vaccines with no copay. There are a few weird insurances that smarm around that, but not many.

Any mutants in Conneticut, this would be a good time to make yourselves heard. The antivaxxers certainly will.
