I fell in love with the Archie McPhee catalog back when the store mostly sold weird surplus items, like lenses from old bomb sights or parts scavenged from decommissioned Soviet submarines. Things the vast majority of people would never want to buy, but the copy in the catalog made each thing weirdly compelling must-have items.
The Accoutrements items that dominate now are fun, but do they even sell surplus anymore?
Yes, in the store.

good to hear!
To this day, I have a little anatomically correct skull keychain that I bought in the Chicago store (maybe their only store back then?) in the early 90’s. A neato weird shop, for sure.
Who would buy this?
