Wonder if he has to use the $20m for his 24/7/365 nursing care that he’ll need for the rest of his life. I watched the entire video and those cops, as mentioned in the AP report, definitely overreacted. Qualified immunity needs reform.

Qualified immunity needs to go away. Colorado reformed it. And what they did changes nothing, because they still indemnify individual officers up to a certain fairly large sum of money. So they technically can be held liable, but it’s still the city that has to pay. Fuck reforming it. It needs to be eliminated.

The reason is obvious.

Carrying malpractice insurance should be a requirement for being a cop.
Or security guard, for that matter.
If you can’t be insured, then no sweet cop-job for you.

And make their unions foot part of the bill for damages.
