They found a trove of child porn in his safe in New York.
How on Earth can someone amassing and storing child porn be considered “walking the straight and narrow?”
It has to be child porn too, because you age out at around 19 in Epstein’s eyes and are considered no longer sexually attractive (read the Herald article).

In a footnote, prosecutors cited remarks Epstein made to The Post in 2011, when he tried to downplay his notorious reputation.
“I’m not a sexual predator, I’m an ‘offender,’” he claimed. “It’s the difference between a murderer and a person who steals a bagel.”

Are you Canadian? The rumor I heard is they’re more likely to ticket Americans because they probably won’t drive up to contest the ticket.
The new prosecutors issued a statement refuting that argument yesterday.

I always thought manslaughter sounded much worse than murder. The former sounds much more grisly.
I’m not aware of that sort of thing happening here. All the ticket revenue goes to the government, not a into Sheriff Buford T. Justice’s private account (hence less BS tickets).
Now and then you hear someone ignorant who boasts about not paying a ticket they got down in the States,what are they gonna do, attitude… Then I tell them about the reciprocal cross-border agreements in place between various agencies, license plate scanners, red-flags on border agent’s screen when you cross … interesting to watch their demeanor change.
Might be just a $14 parking ticket, but the not-paying part is where they’ll crucify you.
Oh yeah, I’d expect if one doesn’t pay a ticket in Canada you’d have consequences in America and vice versa, otherwise they probably wouldn’t accept each other’s DLs.

Prosecutors said efforts by defense lawyers to characterize Epstein’s crimes as “simple prostitution” were “not only offensive but also utterly irrelevant given that federal law does not recognize the concept of a child prostitute — there are only trafficking victims — because a child cannot legally consent to being exploited.”

I saw phrase all over the place when this story broke: “Underage prostitute” as if that’s somehow different from “child rape victim”

In the article about Dershowitz he attacks the character of an accuser by saying they are an “admitted prostitute”. They definitely think a 14-year-old isn’t the victim if they take money.

They definitely offer to pay and demand they recruit more girls as a ploy to try and make their victims feel culpable.
Literally rob them of their innocence.

A 14-year-old in that position may not have a choice about whether they are raped, but we’re apparently supposed to condemn them if they don’t choose to starve as well.
